Stitches: Raise the Surface

Time to take your embroidery to a higher level – literally. Join us for a one day course where you can learn new techniques and stitches to bring height, texture and interest to your textile work.

Ghiordes Knot, florists wire and needle weaving are just a few techniques which you can learn in this one day course led by Claire Leggett. 

Referencing the old tradition of Stump-work you can also pad your work into three dimensions and combine appliqué and embroidery to create flat and free-standing elements with a modern take on this old tradition.

No previous skills are necessary; Claire will guide you in your first steps or help you extend existing knowledge.

Materials are provided but please feel free to bring any of your own favourites.
