From the smallest of terracotta pots, to the Gilbert Orchid House, Winterbourne is the happy beneficiary of generous gifts from members and visitors like you. To continue the incredible development work that has seen a semi-derelict building and tired garden blossom into the amazing place you see today, the need for more of this generosity has never been greater.
Recent donations have helped with much needed revitalisation in the garden including remodelling our orchid house and adding to our alpine collection. Your donation today could help with our future projects such as extending the resin pathways to make the garden easier to access for wheelchairs and purchasing some museum-quality exhibition cases so we can bring items of national importance to be displayed at Winterbourne.
We are currently raising money to create a new area of the garden filled with year-round colour and interest, in the Arboretum Lawn area of the garden (in between the Pergola and the beginning of the stream lawn) which has sadly seen the demise of some trees and is in need of some tender loving care. Thanks to the support of our members, we have already raised over £1,000. There is also the opportunity to dedicate trees in the garden. You can visit the dedications page under the Support Us tab for more information.
Don’t forget to gift aid your donation if you are a UK taxpayer as this will allow your generosity to go even further.
If you would like to know any information about gifting a larger donation to Winterbourne, please contact the fundraising department at the University of Birmingham by emailing [email protected] or calling 0121 414 3003
Your support will help ensure that Winterbourne remains accessible to all visitors for many years to come.
