Led by Dr Jodie Russell, this workshop will explore the function of role-playing games which are a type of game where players pretend to be characters in an imaginary setting. Learn about and discuss the various functions of role-playing games, and how they allow you to explore different situations as well as take up different perspectives.

Dr Jodie Russell is a philosopher based at the Institute for Mental Health at the University of Birmingham, UK. Her main research interests are in mental health and phenomenology. She is a postdoctoral researcher on the EPIC project, investigating epistemic injustice in mental healthcare.
