Threaded Trees: Embroidery that Grows

A textiles workshop designed for nature lovers and stitch enthusiasts alike. Discover how to use various stitches and techniques to bring trees to life in thread. Work from observation or imagination using simple or advanced 3D stitches to reflect the seasons.

Under the guidance of artist Claire Leggett, you’ll discover how stitches like Ghiordes Knot, needle weaving, and couching can bring trees to life in thread. You’ll be encouraged to work from observation or imagination, using simple or advanced 3D stitches to reflect the seasons.

Claire will share inspiring samples and live demonstrations, helping you design and create your own unique piece.

Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, you’ll receive personal support to build your confidence or extend your skills.

All materials and tuition are provided. Just bring your creativity.

 Recommended for ages 18+. The workshop will take place in the Winterbourne Centre for Horticulture.
