Introduction to Beekeeping

This 6 week course is the perfect introduction to caring for your own bees, including the theory of how to harvest honey and keep your bees healthy.

The course covers:

  • Honeybee natural history
  • What you need to know to start beekeeping
  • How to get your first bees
  • How to look after the bees
  • Keeping them healthy
  • Swarming
  • Problems
  • Harvesting and processing honey

Please note that this class is not taught in Winterbourne House itself, but in an outbuilding – you will be sent an email confirming the location of the class in the run-up to the first date.

Our workshops are suitable for ages 18+.
