Every donation helps something grow

Your donations make a huge difference, and ensures Winterbourne continues to grow. So far, your charity donations to our Birmingham site have helped with…

  • The restoration of the court suit, now on display in the house.
  • The purchasing of terracotta pots to help develop potted displays around the garden.
  • Contributing to our year-long funded Working and Retraining as a Gardener trainee placement.
  • Each year, donations through our raffle appeal help to restore items in our collection or contribute to restoration projects across the site. In 2024, this covered the restoration of two 1920s teddy bears now on display in the nursery.

Leave a legacy

In his will, John Nicolson left Winterbourne to University of Birmingham with the proviso that it be preserved ‘in something like its present form.’ His generosity has allowed Winterbourne to flourish into the place we all know and love today, but this is only possible with ongoing support from donations.

Recently, thanks to an extraordinary legacy gift, Winterbourne’s shop has undergone a complete transformation. The refurbishment not only enhances your visit but also helps safeguard our historic site for generations to come.

Your legacy can make a lasting impact. By including Winterbourne in your will, you help ensure that this unique Arts and Crafts house and garden continues to inspire and delight for years to come.
