We thought you might like the opportunity to get another taste of what goes on behind the scenes at Winterbourne. This time we have some lovely photographs of our learner garden. This area is not accessible for visitors to Winterbourne – it is where learners on our RHS courses pick up the practical skills they need to achieve their RHS certificates. We offer the opportunity of gaining both practical and theory certificates with lessons taking place in our classroom as well as outside.
Winterbourne have been an RHS accredited learning centre since 2017 running around 3 RHS qualification certificates each year. RHS level 2 certificates are a great introduction to horticulture for anyone thinking of starting a career in the subject or wanting to learn more about growing plants in their own space at home.
The learner garden is situated where we previously ran the Urban Veg project which amongst other things was focused on working with community groups, sharing skills for growing vegetables. It is great that this area can continue to be used to inspire and teach new growers.
