Learn how to create colourful screen prints on paper!
In this practical workshop you will be screen printing onto paper using hand cut stencils. Draw your own design and then use scalpels to carefully cut out stencils of the design. With help from tutor Karoline Rerrie, have a go at screen printing your design onto paper using the hand cut stencils, colourful water based inks, silkscreens and squeegees. You will learn how to register and screen print two different layers of colour.
By the end of this session, you will have created a series of small multi-coloured prints to take home.
What to bring:
Please bring some images or ideas to work from. Simple bold designs and block shapes work best for screen printing. You will be working on A4 sized designs in the workshop so small images may be difficult to use.
All materials and equipment will be provided. But please bring an apron if you have one or wear clothes you don’t mind getting ink on. Bring some basic drawing materials including a HB pencil and remember something to take your prints home in.
Important information:
Please note; this is a hands on workshop in which participants will be using equipment such as scalpels and squeegees. Some of the workshop will be seated but participants will also need to stand to be able to screen print.
Recommended for ages 18+. The workshop will take place in the Winterbourne Centre for Horticulture. For any queries about this workshop, please email our Learning Officer, Ellie Hill.
All courses, workshops and events at Winterbourne House and Garden are non-refundable unless cancelled by Winterbourne.
