Learn the ancient art of wet felting and create a beautiful felted picture.
Work with Textile Artist and Feltmaker, Penny Dixon to learn the basic skills of feltmaking. You will be shown how to gently pull out and lay wool to achieve the best outcome for fusing the fibres, producing a textured picture from soft, unspun wool.
During this one-day workshop you will be able to experiment with a range of fibres and techniques that you’ve never encountered before. No previous experience is required as support and guidance will be provided throughout.
As well as discussion around the fascinating ancient history of feltmaking, you will also gain an understanding of the properties of wool fibres and how they intermingle to create a unique piece of art.
Recommended for ages 18+. The workshop will take place in the Winterbourne Centre for Horticulture. For any queries about this workshop, please email our Learning Officer, Ellie Hill.
All courses, workshops and events at Winterbourne House & Garden are non-refundable unless cancelled by Winterbourne.
