Pruning plants is one of the most complex activities we undertake in our gardens.

This one-day workshop will help you to learn the art and craft of pruning plants to get the best from your garden shrubs. You will learn the basic pruning principles, methods of pruning, explore tools and equipment, look at what to prune when, and have an opportunity to practise practical techniques.

This workshops is taught by Rudge Wood Horticulture CIC. Rudge Wood was founded by joint directors, Darren Rudge and Helen Wood in 2020. Both have worked in horticulture for over 30 years; teaching, training and creating gardens.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and those looking to deepen their knowledge of pruning best-practices. Recommended for ages 18+. The workshop will take place in the Winterbourne Centre for Horticulture.

For any queries about this workshop, please email our Learning Officer, Ellie Hill.

All courses, workshops and events at Winterbourne House & Garden are non-refundable unless cancelled by Winterbourne. All tickets are subject to a booking fee of up to £2.50.
