Our ever popular Introduction to Beekeeping short course is back!
Beekeeping is a very rewarding hobby and this 6 week course is the perfect introduction to caring for your own bees. Honeybees have a fascinating natural history and who better to learn from than the Birmingham & District Bee Keepers Association.
The course covers:
- Honeybee natural history
- What you need to know to start beekeeping
- How to get your first bees
- How to look after the bees
- Keeping them healthy
- Swarming
- Problems
- Harvesting and processing honey
The sessions are delivered over six weeks and they are classroom based. Sessions take place on Monday evenings between 7.30pm – 9pm, starting from Monday 5th February.
Please note that this class is not taught in Winterbourne House itself, but in an outbuilding – you will be sent an email confirming the location of the class in the run-up to the first date.
Tickets for our courses are non refundable unless the sessions are cancelled by Winterbourne.
