Handmade Paper Making

Discover the art of sustainable handmade paper making in this fun and experimental workshop.

In this introductory workshop, you’ll learn how to transform paper waste into new handmade papers with contemporary equipment & techniques. Expert tutor Danielle Phelps will show you the recycling process and various techniques including dipping, pouring & embossing for creating a range of paper finishes. Working collaboratively, you will experiment with ways to repurpose paper waste material to create a collection of unique, one-off papers to take away.

This course will teach you transferable skills so that you can make your own papers at home. All levels welcome and no prior experience needed.

Unknown chemicals can be found in paper waste so gloves & aprons must be worn at all times. These will be provided by the tutor.

Recommended for ages 18+. The workshop will take place in the Winterbourne Centre for Horticulture. For any queries about this workshop, please email our Learning Officer, Ellie Hill.

All courses, workshops and events at Winterbourne House & Garden are non-refundable unless cancelled by Winterbourne.
