‘Cubists and Tubists’: The Golden Age of Poster Design

Art Deco travel posters from the 1920s and 30s are now more popular than ever, but their reproduction on calendars and greetings cards belies their often radical beginnings as works designed to raise the standard of public taste. In this talk, Dr Emma West gives an insight into the history of interwar posters, placing them in the context of modernist experiments in graphic design by groups like the Bauhaus, Dada and the Surrealists.
