100 Views of Birmingham – Mike Allison

Mike Allison is a full time print-maker based in the Midlands who began the “100 views of Birmingham” project in December 2015. Inspired by Hiroshige’s views of Edo, Mike aims to create 100 prints celebrating the city of Birmingham. The prints are handmade and are created using a variety of print techniques including engraving, collagraph and relief processes.

The ideas and printmaking techniques used in this print series will be explored in this fascinating talk given by the artist himself.

Mike is also exhibiting the project in our Coach House Gallery between 1st March and 9th April
